Fiber Technician

Our Fiber Technicians play a critical role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems, ensuring reliable connectivity and keeping our projects moving efficiently in the field.
What Class A Fiber Technician Do
Depending on project needs, Fiber Technicians may:

Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables in both aerial and underground environments

Perform testing and troubleshooting using OTDRs, power meters, and other diagnostic equipment

Read and interpret network design maps, prints, and schematics

Ensure proper fiber handling, routing, and labeling according to company and industry standards

Maintain accurate records of splicing, testing results, and daily work performed

Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to company policies

Coordinate with supervisors, locators, and field crews to complete projects efficiently and on schedule

Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in a safe and professional manner

Assist with general construction or job site tasks as needed

Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, vehicles, and equipment
