Fiber Technician

If you have experience as a Fiber Technician, or you’re ready to grow into a role with greater responsibility, Capital Technologies is hiring Fiber Technicians to support our construction and field service operations.

Our Fiber Technicians play a critical role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems, ensuring reliable connectivity and keeping our projects moving efficiently in the field.

What Class A Fiber Technician Do

Depending on project needs, Fiber Technicians may:

  • Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables in both aerial and underground environments

  • Perform testing and troubleshooting using OTDRs, power meters, and other diagnostic equipment

  • Read and interpret network design maps, prints, and schematics

  • Ensure proper fiber handling, routing, and labeling according to company and industry standards

  • Maintain accurate records of splicing, testing results, and daily work performed

  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to company policies

  • Coordinate with supervisors, locators, and field crews to complete projects efficiently and on schedule

  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in a safe and professional manner

  • Assist with general construction or job site tasks as needed

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, vehicles, and equipment
