What Directional Bore Operators Do
Depending on project needs, Directional Bore Operators may:

Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment for underground utility installation

Read and interpret bore plans, utility maps, and job specifications

Monitor and steer bore paths to ensure accurate line and grade

Mix and manage drilling fluids to support safe and efficient operations

Locate and avoid existing utilities using locating equipment and safety protocols

Perform equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and basic troubleshooting

Coordinate closely with drill crews, and locators to ensure safe execution of work

Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, utility standards, and site-specific safety requirements

Assist with setup, cleanup, and restoration of job sites
